Quarterback Jordan Love enters his first season as the Green Bay Packers’ starter. The 24-year-old feels he is ready and sees his offense excelling

With the trade of Aaron Rodgers to the News York Jets, an era ended in Green Bay. Now it is up to new quarterback Jordan Love to make the superstar’s departure a thing of the past.

The 24-year-old has already received a lot of praise from all sides in recent weeks. From teammates as well as from Head Coach Matt LaFleur and Quarterback Coach Tom Clements. Speaking to the Wisconsin State Journal, Love has since returned the praise and raved about his offense.

“I think we have a great team. I think we have a good and young offense. We have a lot of work to do and we need to continue to grow. And I think we have a really good defence. Once we get everybody healthy again, we’re going to be really good,” Love elaborated.

Packers offense around Love still relatively inexperienced

Currently missing two key defenders in cornerback Eric Stokes and linebacker Rashan Gary. As Love and his colleagues practiced on the field at Mandatory Minicamp, Stokes and Gary continued to work on their comebacks.

While the Packers defence also features a number of veterans, the offence features a variety of young players. Tight ends Luke Musgrave and Tucker Kraft are entering their first NFL season, as is wide receiver Jayden Reed. Pass receivers Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson are also new to the NFL, both selected by the Packers in the 2022 draft.

“I think once everybody gets rolling, gets comfortable with the offense and is where they need to be on every play, there’s no limit to what we can do,” assessed Love, whose “almost daily progress” was explicitly highlighted by LaFleur.

Love happy with development: “Made a lot of progress “

The quarterback himself also seems to feel good about his progression. “It’s been good. I’ve made a lot of progress. I’m always working on my game, the little things I see on film. Maybe I missed a throw, maybe I moved wrong in the pocket and my feet weren’t set right. I just try to find those little things,” the former Utah State University college player reported.

In any case, Love still has some time to improve before the season starts. First, it’s off to training camp on July 26, with the first preseason game against the Bengals coming up on August 12. Things will get really serious almost a month later, when Green Bay plays host to the Chicago Bears on 10 September.
