Green Bay Packers: GM Brian Gutekunst denies trade promise to Aaron Rodgers

Is there a trade promise to Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers? According to Brian Gutekunst, general manager of the franchise, no such agreement exists.

Green Bay/Munich – Packers GM Brian Gutekunst has denied a trade agreement with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“I didn’t tell him that. The whole conversation with Aaron before last season was about, no matter how the season turned out, we were going to sit down and work out a solution,” Gutekunst told a media panel.

Earlier, several US media outlets had reported that Rodgers would be traded if he asked for it. However, at least the Packers GM did not enter into such an agreement with him.

Rodgers had previously stressed that the meetings with Gutekunst and Director of Football Operations Russ Ball had gone “very differently” – “in a positive sense”.

And yet, the unresolved question of MVP Rodgers’ future is still likely to make some headlines.
