Quarterback Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers talks in detail about his current relationship with the franchise’s executives and his future on the “Pat McAfee Show.
Munich/Green Bay – As a guest on the “Pat McAfee Show”, quarterback Aaron Rodgers spoke in detail about his current relationship with Green Bay Packers officials after the win over the Chicago Bears, which had suffered badly in the recent past.
The playmaker did not want to give any exact information about the content of the talks between him and the franchise. However, Rodgers stressed that it was “a good year of conversations” with general manager Brian Gutekunst.
Rodgers added that he has had many conversations with Packers decision makers about players from the team and other teams to “make the team better.”
When he returned to the Packers at the start of training camp, the 38-year-old said it was something that was very important to him.
Rodgers happy with roster reinforcements
Rodgers is particularly pleased with the Packers’ trade-deadline additions of cornerback Rasul Douglas, who was signed from the Arizona Cardinals’ practice squad, and free-agent linebacker De’Vondre Campbell.
Douglas, in particular, is increasingly becoming a key player for the defence. The game-winning interception against the Arizona Cardinals on the eighth day of play and a pick-six against the Los Angeles Rams in week twelve and against the Chicago Bears in week 14 speak for themselves.
The MVP of the 2020 NFL season is impressed by the fact that the Packers have found players as reinforcements for the squad who were “underdogs” and have given them “a real home”. This, he said, is why he finds the game so “romantic”.
Pleasing news after controversial draft decisions and a lack of reinforcements in Free Agency for the receiving corps caused plenty of thick air in recent years.
Rodgers leaves Packers future open
Although the past offseason has been riddled with trade rumours, and some just won’t go away, Roders is keeping his cards close to his chest.
However, Rodgers wants to take his time deciding what his future in the NFL will look like and whether it will continue to be in Green Bay:
“At some point there will be time to think about it, but that’s still many weeks in the future. There were a lot of questions. Like where I am mentally with the team. “
