The future of Aaron Rodgers continues to be up in the air, and the 37-year-old is not shedding any light on it with his latest statement. However, the NFL superstar reveals that he has been working in the mental area during the offseason.
Three weeks before the start of NFL training camps, quarterback superstar Aaron Rodgers has spoken out – but not about his future.
The Green Bay Packers signal caller instead spoke about his offseason experience so far at a press conference. “I’m very thankful that I’ve had the opportunity to work on my mental health,” Rodgers said.
The 37-year-old added: “I haven’t struggled with depression or anything like that, but it would be okay to talk about it, after all it’s about mental health as well. I was just thinking about what would get me in the best possible state mentally as well.”
Rodgers: “Mental side is important for all athletes “
Thinking about what habits there could be that would make him present, happy and physically strong, Rodgers said. “The mental side is important for all athletes. I don’t think it’s talked about enough. But taking time to work on yourself is probably the best gift we can give ourselves.”
But then his comments were not entirely unrelated to football, even if Rodgers was rather cryptic. “Sometimes the loudest person in the room is not the smartest person. Sometimes the loudest person is not the one who has all the facts or even the truth on their side. Sometimes, it’s much wiser to stay silent or think carefully about what to say,” the 37-year-old explained, possibly alluding to his relationship with the Packers’ leadership.
No commitment to the Packers yet
So far, Rodgers has boycotted all of the Packers’ offseason activities, including turning down a $500,000 bonus for a workout. As a result, he faces a fine of up to $100,000, among other penalties. Several teams have recently been linked to the quarterback superstar, who still lacks a clear commitment to the Packers.
