The Green Bay Packers have turned the playoff corner in a wild season. Aaron Jones believes this was just the beginning
It’s been a wild NFL season with some ups and downs for the Green Bay Packers.
After a poor start, quarterback Jordan Love turned the corner with his team, getting better and better and bringing the franchise closer to the playoffs with every game.
After a 3-6 start, Love and Co. went on a 6-2 spurt. The playmaker was finally one, improving his accuracy, minimizing mistakes and pulling his teammates along with him.
The Packers, who were forced to undergo a shake-up after the departure of legend Aaron Rodgers, became the youngest team in NFL history to reach the postseason at the last minute, knocking off the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round.
Although the San Francisco 49ers were then eliminated in the Divisional Round, the season has given those involved optimism that it was the starting signal for further success
Aaron Jones can feel it
“I feel like what we’re building here is something special,” running back Aaron Jones said on “Total Packers”.
He continued: “You can feel it. You can see it. The chemistry, the bond, the standard that we’ve set. I think with the standard we’ve set, we know what the expectations are when we come back next year. Our standards are high.”
They have no reason not to reach that standard every day because they have shown they are capable of it and can do it game after game, Jones said, “I feel like we’re going to be dangerous. We’re going to be special.”
He praised the 2023 Packers as a “special team, more special than any other group of guys I know,” Jones said. He expects the experience gained from the season will only help the team move forward.
“We’ve exceeded expectations. Nobody thought we’d even make the playoffs, let alone the second round of the playoffs. I have the feeling that this was a great building block for us,” said the 29-year-old with delight.
