Pete Carroll will return to the University of Southern California next season. But not as a coach, but as a teacher
After Pete Carroll was dismissed as head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, things have gone quiet around the 2013 Super Bowl champion. Officially, Carroll was supposed to become a consultant for the Seahawks.
Instead, the 72-year-old will devote himself to another task: Carroll is returning to the University of Southern California, where he was once head coach.
But not to the football department, to the Trojans: Carroll is to become a teacher and lecturer. “I’m incredibly excited about this job,” he told ‘Sports Radio 93.3 KJR-FM’.
These are Carroll’s first public statements since his departure as coach of the Seahawks last January. “I’ve distanced myself from the team since then,” the 72-year-old admitted.
He did not want to reveal which subjects Carroll will be teaching at USC. For him, it is a return after more than 15 years.
