Detroit Lions: Receiver Jameson Williams will be suspended

The Detroit Lions will have to do without Jameson Williams for the next few games. The receiver will be suspended for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances.

It was already suspected in the last few days, now it’s official:

Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has been suspended for two games for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing substances policy.

The 23-year-old will have to forfeit his salary during his suspension.

The nature of the offense committed by Amon-Ra St. Brown’s teammate has not been resolved. The pass-catcher will be available to the Lions again after Week 9, starting on Nov. 4.

Williams was already suspended last year

It is not the first penalty for Williams, who has been with the Lions since 2022. Last year, he was suspended for six games under the NFL gambling policy.

The wide receiver will now miss the Lions’ games against the Tennessee Titans and Green Bay Packers.

This season, he has been on the field for 82 percent of all possible plays. He has caught 17 passes for 361 yards and three touchdowns.
