The Detroit Lions have confirmed the death of Jessie Lemonier. The former linebacker, who last played in the USFL, was only 25 years old.
The Detroit Lions are mourning the loss of former player Jessie Lemonier. He turned 25 years old.
Via Twitter, the franchise expressed its deepest condolences to the former linebacker’s family and praised him as an “exemplary teammate”.
Lemonier played in a total of seven games for the Detroit Lions in 2021 and recorded 15 tackles and 1.5 sacks. He also signed with the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers in between, but spent much of his time on the practice squad.

Lemonier last played in the USFL
Lemonier, who was drafted by the Arlington Renegades in the XFL last November, signed with the Houston Gamblers in the USFL for the upcoming season before being transferred to the Birmingham Stallions.
As announced by his agent Drew Smith, Lemonier was expecting a child with his girlfriend.
There is no word yet on the cause of death.
