Wide receiver DeSean Jackson played just seven games for the Los Angeles Rams. Before the end of the trade deadline on Tuesday, he now already called for parting again. The Green Bay Packers in particular are being considered as a possible buyer.
Los Angeles/Munich – After just seven games, DeSean Jackson and the Los Angeles Rams appear to be parting ways again.
The 34-year-old came to a verbal agreement with head coach Sean McVay, who last confirmed that a suitable trade partner is being sought for the wide receiver.
Accordingly, Jackson will also not travel to this weekend’s game at the Houston Texans.
“He deserves another chance. The circumstances here weren’t ideal for him,” McVay kept mum.
Jackson got little playing time
After making a comeback with the Philadelphia Eagles between 2019 and 2020, the receiver signed with the L.A. Rams before the season.
Drafted in as a deep threat, Jackson caught just eight passes for 221 yards in seven games. He also was on the turf for just 32 percent of the offensive snaps.
A new club will now be sought by Tuesday’s trade deadline. The injury-plagued Green Bay Packers in particular are a taker, with the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts also rumoured to be possible candidates.
