Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is facing a court battle. A previously dismissed personal injury lawsuit will now be reopened
Bad news for Jerry Jones. A Texas appeals court has ruled that a previously dismissed personal injury lawsuit against the Dallas Cowboys owner will be reopened, according to the Dallas Morning News.
The case had actually already been dismissed by a lower court in February 2022.
The subject of the case is an alleged incident at AT&T Stadium on 16 September 2018, at which time Jones allegedly “kissed the plaintiff on the mouth” and “forcibly groped” her without her consent.
Cowboys owner Jones must testify under oath
The plaintiff’s lawyer was elated at the court’s decision to reopen the case. “We always knew we would win because the law was on our side,” said lawyer Thomas Daniel Bowers. “The victim finally gets her day in court, and that’s very important. “
The owner of the Cowboys will now inevitably have to testify under oath. In addition, the question is raised whether the NFL will also launch an investigation under the Personal Conduct Policy.
