In addition to losing and being eliminated from the playoffs, the evening ended even worse for Dallas Cowboys’ Tony Pollard. The running back suffered a serious injury in the second quarter and is expected to require surgery.
The Dallas Cowboys not only lost the game against the San Francisco 49ers (12:19) and were thus eliminated from the playoffs, but also had to cope with the loss of Tony Pollard.
The running back suffered a fracture of the left tibia during the game and will have to undergo surgery, as reported by Todd Archer of “ESPN”, among others.
Pollard went down shortly before the end of the first half after a tackle, had to be supported afterwards and left the field with an “aircast” around his leg. The running back was ruled out of returning at halftime.
The injury comes at the end of the star’s best season. In the regular season, Pollard recorded 1,007 yards on 193 runs and scored twelve touchdowns. He will become a free agent in March, but despite the injury, it’s not just the Cowboys who are likely to be interested in signing him (back).
