Delivering in the NFL at 44? For Tom Brady, that’s not a problem. It’s a different story for Colts lineman DeForest Buckner, who jokingly suspects financial reasons behind Brady’s eternal career.
Indianapolis/Munich – Tom Brady is an exception. In many ways.
At 44 years old, the quarterback is still playing at an absolute top level and shows no intention of hanging up his football boots in the near future.
While otherwise usually only kickers over the age of 40 are still on the field in the NFL, the GOAT is still making it look easy in his 21st season.
At 44 in the NFL? Without DeForest Buckner
For many, that’s cause for admiration, but Colts lineman DeForest Buckner has a different theory, saying of himself in an interview with The Athletic: “If I’m still playing football at 44, it can only mean I’m broke.”
Indianapolis plays the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady in Week 12. The Colts are currently in top form after winning three in a row recently. Buckner started in all eleven games and recorded 4.5 sacks.
Whether Brady is really still playing for financial reasons, however, is rather doubtful.
