Colin Kaepernick takes to Twitter to stress he wants to get back on the field. Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett wants to work out with the ex-quarterback.
Munich – Colin Kaepernick is not letting up.
Most recently, the ex-quarterback posted a short workout video to get himself back in the conversation. “He’s in the shape of his life,” ESPN quoted an anonymous source. Since then, there has been speculation about where Kaepernick might fit in.
On Sunday, Kaepernick himself followed up, stressing that he wants to get back on the field. “For the last five years I have been training and preparing myself in case I get an opportunity to play,” he wrote. But there hasn’t been one so far.
He was not given a new contract in the NFL after his anthem protest in the 2016 season, and he played his last game on January 1, 2017.
For The past 5 years I’ve been working out and staying ready in case an opportunity to play presented itself. I’m really grateful to my trainer, who I’ve been throwing to all this time. But man, do I miss throwing to professional route runners.
Who’s working I will pull up

A lot has happened in Kaepernick’s life since then – after all, he has settled out of court with the NFL, among others, has a lucrative Nike advertising contract and his own Netflix series – but a new team has not been found despite all his efforts.
Thankful to coach
“I’m very grateful to my coach, who I’ve been throwing to all this time,” Kaepernick continued, “But man, how I miss throwing to professional receivers.”
That’s why the 34-year-old has now taken action himself, launching a coaching enquiry: “Who’s coaching? I’ll stop by,” Kaepernick continued.
Love to you and your brother! I’ll be there tomorrow. I’ll dm you to coordinate. https://t.co/wiJFVPnYD0

The call was successful: Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett, who had already responded publicly and encouragingly to Kaepernick’s short workout video, offered to join the team for a session. A meeting is planned. What will come of it is open.
Some talks with the Seahawks
Funfact: It was the Seattle Seahawks who invited Kaepernick for a visit in 2017, possibly to fill the backup position behind quarterback Russell Wilson. In the end, Seattle refrained from signing him because Kaepernick was “too good to be a backup”, according to coach Pete Carroll.
Wilson will play for the Denver Broncos in 2022 after a mega-trade. So the Seahawks would have a need at the playmaker position.
