Things are apparently heating up at the Chicago Bears’ training camp. According to several journalists, there is a fistfight between Chase Claypool and Eddie Jackson.
The Chicago Bears are apparently on edge a month before the start of the season.
An altercation occurred on the practice field this Saturday when wide receiver Chase Claypool and Pro Bowl safety Eddie Jackson exchanged blows during practice.
The incident occurred when Jackson attacked Claypool with a strong hit even though he was already on his way to the sideline anyway.
Enraged by the intensity of the hit, Claypool retaliated by tackling Jackson hard. Jackson’s helmet was ripped off his head during the melee and he was hurled to the ground for some 20 yards.
The two Bears players then exchanged heated words and gestures.
General Manager Ryan Poles was able to defuse the situation by jumping between the two brawlers and talking to them, thereby restoring order to the practice field.
Jackson has been playing for the Bears since 2017 when he was drafted in the 4th round.
He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2018 and 2019.
Claypool played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2020 to 2022 before being traded to the Chicago Bears during last season.
Fight! Eddie Jackson popped Chase Claypool late as he ran down the sideline after a catch. Claypool threw the ball at BoJack, then the shoving began. Jackson’s helmet wound up 20 yards away.
