Due to Andy Dalton’s injury, Justin Fields will take the field as the Chicago Bears starter for the first time in week three. Head coach Matt Nagy explains that the rookie is now showing previously unknown things.
Munich – The time has come on the third NFL game day: Quarterback Justin Fields will be on the field for the first time as a starter for the Chicago Bears in the duel against the Cleveland Browns.
The rookie playmaker, who has always received a frenetic reception from the fans, replaces Andy Dalton, who has suffered an injury.
And if you believe Bears head coach Matt Nagy, Fields already looks like a starting quarterback. Thus, the head coach explained in a conversation with US journalists that the rookie is learning a lot every day as he takes control of the offence.
In addition, Nagy stressed that he himself is also learning more about the youngster every day as he watches him develop.
Nagy is learning more and more about Fields
“We are learning too. This week, with him getting all the workouts, we’re seeing things that maybe we didn’t see in the first two weeks because he didn’t get those sessions,” Nagy said.
In addition, the coach hinted that he didn’t want Fields to be the starter in the first two games if only so the rookie could learn from Andy Dalton from the sidelines.
With Dalton’s injury, that is now a thing of the past.
