Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is making significant progress in his recovery from a torn ACL.
The playmaker suffered the serious knee injury without any outside interference from an opponent in a 13-27 loss to the New England Patriots on preseason day 14 and subsequently required surgery.
Murray now posted a video on Instagram showing him doing squats with weights. During the workout, he wore a long protective cover over his operated right knee.
The 25-year-old captioned the video “13 weeks” in reference to the timing of his surgery.
Arizona Cardinals: former general manager Steve Keim criticizes Kyler Murray
A day before the clip was released, former Cardinals general manager Steve Keim had spoken out about the future of the 2019 No. 1 pick in a podcast with former NFL player Chris Long.
The 50-year-old explained that Murray “still has to grow” and that players like him “need to continue to learn what it takes to be great.” At the same time, Keim added that he is getting better and that he is a quarterback who “doesn’t want to lose and doesn’t want to let people down”.
Still, Keim said there are areas such as “film study and attention to detail” where Murray could improve before his fifth season in the NFL.
