Köln – Amon-Ra St. Brown (22) became the first professional football player with a German passport to score two touchdowns in the NFL and made history. In the surprising 30:12 victory of his Detroit Lions against the Arizona Cardinals, the wide receiver scored on a 37-yard run into the end zone to make it 9:0.
The Lions can no longer reach the playoffs despite the victory.
St. Brown already with touchdown against Vikings
Two weeks ago, the German-American had recorded the first touchdown in the game against the Minnesota Vikings. With the clock running down, St. Brown caught a pass from quarterback Jared Goff, Detroit won 29:27 and celebrated their first win of the season.
St. Brown was the fourth player with a German passport to score a touchdown. Previously, his older brother Equanimeous (Green Bay Packers/December 2020), Jakob Johnson (New England Patriots/September 2020) and former NFL pro Markus Kuhn (December 2014) had achieved the feat. Kuhn wore a New York Giants jersey on the run into the end zone.
The St. Brown brothers have an American father and a German mother.
