The defensive end of the Dallas Cowboys makes a request to rejoin the NFL. The new charter should save him from further suspensions.
Randy Gregory dreams of another shot at the NFL.
The former second-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys hopes for a comeback after his suspension in February 2019 and has applied for reentry into the NFL.
The league around Commissioner Roger Goodell now has 60 days to make a decision.
Numerous suspensions for marijuana use
Gregory had already been banned by the NFL four times for drug policy violations.
Despite the measure, the Dallas Cowboys had extended his contract in April to 2020 inclusive.
Gregory had never denied his use and dependence on marijuana in previous years, but he is no longer threatened with suspension due to the new basic CBA contract between the league and the players’ union.
More games missed than played
However, he has yet to be pardoned due to the past cases of Commissioner Goodell.2018 Gregory had last played for the Cowboys in 2018, had booked 6 sacks in 14 games. During the 2016 and 2017 seasons he missed 30 of 32 games due to suspensions.
In total, the Defensive End has had 28 games since his 2015 draft, with 8 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 45 tackles.
