Tom Brady: ‘Big worries’ about health after break-up with Gisele Bündchen

Tom Brady has struggled with extreme physical and mental problems during the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ disappointing season. At least recent statements by his quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen, which are deeply revealing and thoroughly shocking, testify to this.

Tom Brady has had an extremely difficult NFL year. Not only athletically, but also privately, there was unusual chaos for the 45-year-old quarterback. How hard Brady had to struggle in what was probably his last year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is now indicated by statements from Brady’s quarterback coach Clyde Christensen.

“Seeing Tom have to leave training camp for eleven days to take care of some personal issues was heartbreaking,” Christensen said in an interview with the Tampa Bay Times: “The divorce. Worrying about his kids. Tough times. But then you’re expected to do your job when you come back.”

Brady had split from top model Gisele Bündchen after 13 years of marriage. In the aftermath, Christensen had been “very worried” about the seven-time Super Bowl winner. “He lost 15 pounds. It was very stressful. He was struggling in pain,” revealed the 67-year-old, who will no longer be on the sidelines for the Buccaneers next season.

In the wake of a wave of layoffs following the Bucs’ disappointing regular season (8-9), which came to an end with a resounding loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round, Christensen retired despite a current contract. Four wide assistant coaches and offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich also had to leave.

Tom Brady too old? Every pass “like a painting by Picasso “

Despite, or perhaps because of, the adverse circumstances in which Brady has played this season, his respect for the star quarterback’s achievements has grown even more. “Nobody here cares about your personal problems. You have a team to lead. Everybody relies on you. The show must go on and on,” Christensen said.

He also said he is convinced Brady will continue to play in the NFL next season. “There hasn’t been a single practice I’ve seen where I haven’t said to someone, ‘How can a guy that age still throw a football like that at 45?” he explained, “It’s like a Picasso painting every time.”

However, it is considered highly unlikely that Brady will play for the Buccaneers again. The 45-year-old will become a free agent and already addressed farewell words to the franchise and its fans after the play-off exit against the Cowboys.

“I love this organisation, it’s great here. I’m deeply grateful for the warm welcome you guys have given me here and for the respect I’ve been given. I hope I’ve been able to give the same back to you guys. Thank you so much,” Brady said at the post-game press conference.

Tom Brady: Raiders or Dolphins next stop?

The Las Vegas Raiders are considered a possible option for Brady, where there is a vacancy at the quarterback position after the departure of Derek Carr and Brady would also meet his old offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. The Miami Dolphins and New York Jets have also been repeatedly linked to the veteran star.

“If I knew what the hell I was going to do, I would have fucking told you guys already, okay? I’m looking from day to day,” Brady had recently said on his podcast “Let’s Go” regarding his future.
