Wednesday, 14.2., 23:45: US President Biden speaks out

Eight months before the US presidential election, the incident continues to fuel the security debate in the US, with US President Joe Biden reacting in shock and calling on his countrymen to support the passage of gun reform. On Wednesday evening, Biden spoke out.

“The Super Bowl is the most unifying event in America,” he said. “Nothing brings us together more. And the celebration of a Super Bowl victory is a moment that brings unparalleled joy to the winning team and its supporters. That this joy turned to tragedy today in Kansas City is a profound wound to the American soul. Today’s events should move us, shock us, shame us and compel us to act.

What are we waiting for? What more do we need to see? How many more families need to be torn apart? It is time to act. I stand by that. And I ask the country to stand with me. Make your voice heard in Congress so that we finally act to ban assault weapons, restrict high capacity magazines, strengthen background checks, and keep guns out of the hands of those who are not allowed to own or handle them. “
