Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to their first Super Bowl title in 50 years in February 2020. To ensure that the city can look forward to continued success in the future, a company came up with a clever idea to get people in Kansas City excited about wearing a mouth and nose protector.
Unlike in Germany, it is not obligatory to wear a mouth and nose protector everywhere in the USA. In order to make people in Kansas City enthusiastic about wearing such a life-saving protection, the “Raygun” company now produces masks calling for the protection of Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes.
One mask costs $15
The message of “Raygun” is relatively simple: Wearing a mask protects the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback and increases the franchise’s chances of winning more Super Bowls. “Kansas City, do you remember how happy you were after the Super Bowl,” the company asks on Twitter.
KC, remember how happy you were after the Super Bowl?
well, now imagine if Mahomes got Covid & with diminished lung capacity couldn't repeat.
masks aren't just for YOU, they're for Mahomes, too! do your part.

“Imagine Mahomes getting infected with COVID-19 and not being able to repeat the success with his weaker lungs,” it continues. “Masks do not protect ONLY you, but Mahomes as well. Do your part.” For 15 dollars you can buy a mouth-and-nose mask, 35 percent of the profits will be donated by “Raygun” to local food stores in Kansas City.
Message succeeded
The company’s message seems to be well received in the city of the reigning Super Bowl winner, the “Patrick Mahomes Mask” is one of the most popular “Raygun” masks and has been sold over 300 times. Even the mayor of Kansas City seems to have listened to the company, since June 30th it is mandatory to wear a mouth and nose protector in public life.
