St. Brown in the middle of it all: Netflix series “Receiver” launches

As one of five football stars from the US billion-dollar NFL league, Amon-Ra St. Brown is the focus of a new series on Netflix. “Receiver” has been running on the streaming platform since Wednesday. In addition to the German-American St. Brown (Detroit Lions), the episodes revolve around other greats at the position of pass receiver: Davante Adams (Las Vegas Raiders), Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings), George Kittle and Deebo Samuel (both San Francisco 49ers).

St. Brown recently signed a new contract with the Detroit Lions, with the receiver set to receive 120 million US dollars over four years. At the time of signing, the 24-year-old was the highest-paid NFL professional at his position. Jefferson is now number one.

Netflix had streamed the series “Quarterback” the previous year. The eight episodes focused on Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins and Marcus Mariota. A film crew followed the superstars during the 2022/23 season. “Receivers” is about the 2023/24 season
