Vic Fangio apologizes for his statements in the racism debate within the NFL. He said he didn’t make himself clear.
The racism debate in the USA after the death of George Floyd is also getting heated in the NFL.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees was met with league-wide hostility for his statements on the anthem protest. Vic Fangio also received a lot of opposition for his statement that there is “no racism” in the NFL.
Now the Broncos coach spoke up again and put his first statement into perspective.
“After reflecting on my statements and listening to my players, I realized that they were wrong about racism and discrimination,” Fangio said in a statement he made about the Denver Broncos.
“After reflecting on my comments yesterday and listening to the players this morning, I realize what I said regarding racism and discrimination in the NFL was wrong."

He himself would never have personally experienced these terrible incidents of racism within the league, but he understands that other players, coaches and staff would have quite different perspectives. “I should have been clearer with you, and for that I apologize.”
His real point would have been that there’s no racism and no color in the NFL booths and on the field. Unfortunately, the boundaries would stretch beyond that.
Previously, Fangio had claimed that problems of this nature were minimal in the NFL.
