Cologne (SID) – A jersey of living NFL legend Tom Brady has been auctioned off for a record sum of $480,000. The star quarterback of Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers wore the prized piece in the last main round game of last season and signed it afterwards. According to ESPN, never before has a worn jersey (“game-worn”) from the professional football league fetched such a sum.
In addition to the signature of the most successful NFL player in history, the back number features his statistics from the game against the Atlanta Falcons (44:27) and G.O.A.T, the abbreviation for Greatest Of All Time. The auction house Goldin auctioned off the jersey.
Weeks earlier, a Brady shirt worn in October had gone over the table for $320,500. This record has now been broken.
