Bill Belichick took part in the “Coaches Clinic” over the weekend and exchanged ideas with coaches. Matt Rhule was blown away
Bill Belichick is considered one of the best NFL coaches in history. For some experts, he’s even the best.
Matt Rhule is obviously one of the Patriots legend’s admirers. After meeting Belichick, Rhule couldn’t stop raving about him.
The six-time Super Bowl winner recently took part in the “Coaches Clinic” as a guest at the University of Washington’s Spring Training.
Belichick’s son Steve is the Huskies’ defensive coordinator, and his father was invited to take part in the training session, exchanging ideas with coaches and giving them tips from his wealth of experience.
He also talked to Rhule, the former head coach of the Carolina Panthers and current head coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and his coaching team. And that left an impression.
“He’s so smart [and] has seen so much that he can make the complex so easy that it humbles you and embarrasses you,” Rhule said. “I was embarrassed to listen to him and see how smart he is and how easy it was. He spent four and a half hours just talking to the coaches.”
Rhule added: “He just sat there and talked and reminisced about 15 years ago. The only reason we didn’t get more information is because he had to slow down to make sure you understood what he was saying. “
