Tom Brady would like to acquire shares in the Las Vegas Raiders. Should this be approved, he would have to make significant sacrifices in his role as a TV pundit
From the start of the 2024 NFL season, quarterback legend Tom Brady will be a pundit on US broadcaster “Fox”.
The 47-year-old would also like to become a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, but the deal has not yet been finalized. It would also not be possible to reconcile the two without making compromises.
As “ESPN” reports, citing a meeting between the owners and league officials, Brady would have to accept various restrictions in his role as an expert.
For example, he would not be allowed to enter other teams’ training grounds or buildings and would not be allowed to attend training sessions as a spectator. He would also not be allowed to take part in TV production meetings, where broadcasters meet with head coaches and key players of the teams that will be broadcast in advance.
These meetings are considered an important basis for the broadcast. The restrictions would only apply to Brady, other production members would not be affected.
Brady’s offer not yet accepted
In addition, the 47-year-old would also be subject to other NFL regulations. In addition to the gambling and anti-tampering policy, these include the fact that he is not allowed to criticize other teams and especially referees during broadcasts. If, for example, he disagrees with a call and communicates this, he could be fined or even suspended.
However, Brady does not have to worry about this yet. According to the US media, his bid for a minority stake in the Raiders has not yet been approved by the other owners, and the restrictions could make this even more difficult
