NFL: Three teams secure rights for United Arab Emirates

The American professional league continues its expansion course undeterred and could soon be playing games in the Arab world.

After Europe, South America and Australia, the NFL is now putting out feelers to the Middle East.

As the professional league announced, regular season games are to be played in the United Arab Emirates in the future as part of the Global Markets Program.

“We don’t know the timing. But I can say that there is strong interest in our game in this market,” said NFL Executive Vice President Peter O’Reilly.

This is also the reason why “three teams are showing interest in this market and have raised their hand,” O’Reilly continued.

The three teams are the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Commanders, who have acquired the corresponding marketing rights.
