Cologne – Seven German football players have been invited to the talent scouting of the North American professional league NFL. At the International Combine in London on 3 and 4 October, a total of 44 players from Europe and Africa will be given the opportunity to recommend themselves for a professional career in the USA.
Four players come from the European League of Football (ELF): John Levi Kruse (Hamburg Sea Devils), Leander Wiegand, Flamur Simon (both Cologne Centurions) and Harlan Kwofie (Rhein Fire). Luca Jokiel (Heidelberg Hunters), Lino Schröter (Cologne Crocodiles) and Marlon Werthmann (Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns) are also taking part. A total of twelve players from the ELF are taking part in the talent scouting.
After completing the performance tests, which are modelled on the NFL’s annual “Scouting Combine” for college graduates, the best talents will train for three months in the USA. If they also impress there, a guaranteed place in the training squad of one of the 32 NFL teams beckons for the next season.

Among others, Jakob Johnson (Las Vegas Raiders) from Stuttgart had recommended himself for the NFL in the past through strong performances at the International Combine. He will be entering his fourth season with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022, having previously played for the New England Patriots for three years.
