NFL: Team owner announces “international division” – two teams in Germany?

An unnamed team owner announces an “international division” in the NFL. This means that there is now also the possibility that Germany will actually become an NFL location.

An unnamed team owner in the NFL apparently dropped a bombshell during the owners meeting in Arizona. “There will be an international division in the NFL”, “ProFootballtalk” quotes the team owner via “FrontOfficeSports.com”. It is just not yet known exactly when this division will come.

Commissioner Roger Goodell himself had talked about the possibility of a European division during the 2022 regular season. For years, NFL circles have discussed the possibility of a team in London, where several Regular Season games have been played since 2007.

According to the report by “ProFootballtalk”, two teams could be based in London “immediately”. According to the portal, the other two teams could come to Germany, which also hosted an NFL game for the first time in November 2022 at Munich’s Allianz Arena to great acclaim.

In the coming regular season, the NFL will even make two guest appearances in Germany, with both games presumably being played in Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park.
