NFL suspends Corona protocol for upcoming season: Testing requirement abolished

Decision in the best football league in the world. The NFL is not reinstating the already suspended Corona protocol for the coming season and is also abolishing the control tests.

Munich – The NFL suspended its Corona protocols on March 3 – and that won’t change for the 2022 season.

According to a report by “NFL Media”, the management council of the world’s best football league has informed teams that regular covid testing of players and staff will no longer be required, regardless of the individual’s vaccination status. After two years in Corona protocol, this marks a return to normality.

However, testing will not disappear entirely, of course. Thus, testing will be done “when clinically indicated and/or on the instructions of the team doctor”. In addition, any person experiencing symptoms must report them immediately and will not be allowed to enter the premises of the respective franchise until they have tested negative.

Teams also can no longer mandate vaccination for their personnel – subject to state law. This means there will be no restrictions on the unvaccinated in the future either

Restrictions on weight rooms and other spaces where many players congregate will also be lifted. In addition, players will no longer have to wear devices to monitor their contacts in the facility.
