The players of the NFL can probably soon look forward to higher salaries. The income of the coaches could also improve considerably.
Munich – The NFL’s salary cap is set to rise again.
According to a report, the salary cap in the 2022 NFL season is 208.2 million US dollars. This amount would correspond to the maximum agreed upon by the NFL and the NFL Players Association in May.
The salary cap this season is 182.5 million US dollars. In the 2020 season, this was still at 198.2 million US dollars. The decrease was related to the consequences of the pandemic.
Not only the players, but also the coaches can presumably soon look forward to higher salaries. “Fox Sports” predicts that coaches’ salaries could double or even triple in the near future.
Currently, only a handful of coaches earn more than ten million dollars a year. However, because several college coaches have recently signed new contracts with eight-figure annual salaries, this could also have an impact on the NFL.
Candidates for eight-figure annual salaries, according to “Pro Football Talk”, are for example Kliff Kingsbury (Arizona Cardinals), Matt LaFleur (Green Bay Packers), Ron Rivera (Washington Football Team), Sean McDermott (Buffalo Bills), Kevin Stefanski (Cleveland Browns), Mike Vrabel (Tennessee Titans), Brian Flores (Miami Dolphins), Frank Reich (Indianapolis Colts) and Zac Taylor (Cincinnati Bengals).
