NFL: Rookies Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers make $10,000 bet

10,000 dollars for the Rookie of the Year: The two former teammates Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers unveiled an explosive bet. But is there now stress with the NFL?

In college, Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers were teammates with the LSU Tigers. In the NFL Draft, both were picked in the top 10 – quarterback Daniels ended up with the Commanders, wide receiver Nabers with the Giants.

As the rookies revealed in an interview on the podcast “All Facts No Brakes”, they made a bet with each other: If one of them is voted “Rookie of the Year”, the other must pay him 10,000 US dollars.

Nabers had already spoken about the bet a few days ago in an interview with former NFL pro Ryan Clark. “He wasn’t supposed to tell anyone,” Daniels said later, but then revealed the details of the bet: “Whoever loses has to pay – 10,000 dollars in cash.”

Whether the bet will actually go through, however, is questionable. Because, as “ESPN” reports, the NFL could have a problem with it

The gambling rules for NFL players are very strict. According to the rules, it is forbidden to “place bets directly or through third parties on NFL games, practices or other league events”.

At the rookie minicamp, which began this week, the NFL debutants will also receive special training on gambling regulations. According to “ESPN”, the bet could be canceled, at least officially, by then at the latest.
