NFL: Richard Sherman arrested – consequences imminent

Richard Sherman is making negative headlines. The longtime Seahawks star has been arrested by the police

Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman has been arrested for DUI, Fox 13 in Seattle reports. The Washington State Patrol confirmed to the station that the arrest was made Saturday morning.

According to the report, the ex-athlete was taken to the King County Jail shortly before 5 a.m.

Police also stated that the incident is still under investigation. In addition, no further details will be released until an official request is made by the District Attorney’s Office.

The arrest could become a problem for Sherman. As recently as March 2022, he pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless driving, second-degree trespassing and speeding in a construction zone. This involved an incident from July 2021.

According to “Fox 13”, Sherman received a 90-day suspended sentence and is under observation for two years – but the two-year period has not yet fully expired since the verdict in March 2022.

This means that the new incident could have serious consequences for Sherman.

The 35-year-old was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round in 2011 and played eleven years in the NFL. He won the Super Bowl with the Seahawks and was also selected to the Pro Bowl five times.

For the past two years, he has been an analyst on the pregame and postgame show on Amazon Prime Thursday Night Football.
