On 11 July, college stars will get a second chance to land in the NFL. The league is reintroducing the Supplemental Draft.
For four years it hasn’t existed – now the NFL is reintroducing the Supplemental Draft.
This supplemental draft gives college players who were not eligible for the annual spring draft for various reasons another NFL chance.
As insider Ian Rapoport reports, the draft will take place on July 11.
Milton Wright looks up for selection
One candidate, wide receiver Milton Wright of Purdue, is already set as a participant.
The last player selected in a Supplemental Draft was safety Jalen Thompson, who was picked by the Arizona Cardinals.
Thompson has been a starter for the Cardinals since his rookie year and made 110 tackles last season.
The first Supplemental Draft took place in 1977.
