Carson Palmer, the former Cincinnati Bengals, Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals quarterback, has heaped praise on Joe Burrow during an appearance on “The QB Room” podcast. According to him, the Bengals star is the best quarterback in the league.
“I think Joe Burrow is the best quarterback in the league. I know Patrick Mahomes is phenomenal, but Burrow is more consistent. He’s more reliable (…) and has no weak links,” Carson Palmer, the former Cincinnati Bengals, Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals quarterback, praised Bengals star Joe Burrow during an appearance on “The QB Room” podcast.
He continued in praise: “He’s mentally and physically strong, throws accurately all distances, gets rid of the ball quickly and can gain space on foot.”
The 43-year-old was selected first overall in the 2003 NFL Draft and earned Pro Bowler honours three times in his career. “There’s nothing that’s going to rattle him,” Palmer said of Burrow.
Burrow amassed 11,774 passing yards, 82 touchdowns and 31 interceptions in his NFL career so far. Last season, he and the Bengals fell 20-23 to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the Conference Championships. The year before, the journey only ended in the Super Bowl against the Los Angeles Rams – also after a 20:23.
Joe Burrow facing contract extension
Burrow could sign a new contract this offseason. He is currently tied to the Bengals for two more years, including the fifth-year option. Rumour has it, however, that an extension will be sought as early as this year.
Experts estimate that the new contract will bring him around 50 million US dollars a year. By the way: A few months ago, the Bengals sold the naming rights to their own stadium for the first time – perhaps in order to be able to financially support some of the contracts.
