The NFL plans to return to Mexico, only the date has not yet been set.
Officially, it is not yet official, a game and the date have not yet been set, but the NFL is still planning to hold an international game in Mexico.
In the run-up to the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans, NFL Executive Vice President Peter O’Reilly hinted that it is only a matter of time.
“We are in contact with Mexico City and in particular the operators of the Azteca Stadium,” said O’Reilly. “As you know, the Azteca Stadium will be the site of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. We are evaluating when it makes sense to return to Mexico.”
The San Francisco 49ers last met with the Arizona Cardinals in Mexico in 2022.
