German-American Amon-Ra St. Brown will take on Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the opening game of the new NFL season on September 7 (local time) with the Detroit Lions. The U.S. Professional Football League made the announcement on Thursday. The rest of the schedule will be released later today.

The kickoff game will be on a Thursday, with the first Monday Night Game of the 2023/24 season on Sept. 11 pitting the New York Jets, with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, against the Buffalo Bills. Star player Rodgers was most recently traded from the Green Bay Packers to New York.

On Wednesday, the NFL had announced that two main round games will be held in Frankfurt in the fall. The Chiefs will play the Miami Dolphins on November 5, and the New England Patriots will play the Indianapolis Colts on November 12.
