Catherine Raiche, the vice president of football operations for the Philadelphia Eagles, could become only the second woman in NFL history to hold the general manager’s post at a franchise. The Minnesota Vikings invite the 33-year-old to interview.
Munich/Minnesota – Catherine Raiche, the vice president of football operations for the Philadelphia Eagles, has been invited to interview for the general manager position with the Minnesota Vikings, according to “ESPN” insider Adam Schefter. The franchise is looking for a successor to the fired Rick Spielman.
The 33-year-old is currently believed to be the highest-ranking woman in a personnel position on an NFL team. She spent the past three seasons with the Eagles and was promoted to her current position prior to the 2021 season.
Previously, Raiche worked in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for five seasons with the Montreal Alouettes and Toronto Argonauts. For the former, among other things, as assistant general manager.
Raiche would be only the second female GM in the league. Susan Tose Spencer was the first woman in NFL history to hold the general manager position for the Eagles from 1983-85.
