German kicker Lenny Krieg is moving to the NFL. Apparently, the Atlanta Falcons are making the running for the coveted special teamer – especially the contract term is surprising.
In the past few days, it has become apparent that there could soon be another German player in the NFL. Several teams are said to have been interested in kicker Lenny Krieg.
As the “NFL Network” now reports, the 22-year-old is signing with the Atlanta Falcons. According to the report, it is a three-year contract that will even earn the native of Berlin a signing bonus and a guaranteed base salary.
Krieg was active in the ELF for the Stuttgart Surge last season and impressed scouts in the U.S. Now he is headed to Atlanta.
As one of five IPP specialists, Krieg was invited to participate in the NFL Combine in Indianapolis in February 2025. There he impressed, being the only one of twelve kickers to make all 14 of his field goal attempts from distances of 35 to 55 yards.
“Standing on the field of an NFL stadium for the first time… was an electrifying feeling! But it also gave me strength and made me feel right to be there,” “overall, it’s three very fast-paced days where you have to be at 100 percent at all times and see a lot of familiar faces”.
In the 2024 ELF season, Krieg scored 11 out of 16 tries in 12 games, with one blocked. At the extra points, Krieg’s hit rate was 66 out of 75 tries. Overall, he scored 99 points.
