NFL: Jonathan Taylor leads Indianapolis Colts to victory over Buffalo Bills

The Indianapolis Colts are surprisingly victorious at the Buffalo Bills thanks to Jonathan Taylor. Meanwhile, the Houston Texans shock the Tennesse Titans, while the Detroit Lions remain winless. ran summarises the 7pm games.

Munich – Before the cracker duel between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys is on the agenda, the 7 p.m. games were already hot:

Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills 41:15

The Indianapolis Colts and Jonathan Taylor clearly got the better start in an entertaining game. The running back caused problems for the Buffalo Bills’ defence this evening and ended up with 214 scrimmage yards and five(!) touchdowns.

Quarterback Carson Wentz also delivered a flawless game, throwing for 106 passing yards and a touchdown. After a beautiful pass to the outstanding Taylor, he gave the Colts an early 14-0 lead.

The Bills, on the other hand, struggled for a long time against a toxic Colts defence. Quarterback Josh Allen threw a nasty interception and had trouble getting the offense going.

It wasn’t until the second quarter that Allen and Co. slowly thawed out and got on the scoreboard after a nice pass from the playmaker to wide receiver Stefon Diggs. By the end of the game, Allen had 209 passing yards and two touchdowns – but he also had two interceptions.

There was no end to the Bills’ string of mistakes. After a punt return fumble by Isaiah McKenzie, Taylor scored his third touchdown of the day. In the second half, Taylor continued to go for it and added two more touchdowns.

The Bills could not do too much more in the remaining time of the game except for cosmetic results. The loss drops Allen and Co. to 6-4, while the Colts improve to 6-5 and move ever closer to the play-off places.

New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles 29:40

Clear affair between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New Orleans Saints. Eagles playmaker Justin Fields confirmed his rising form and put up strong numbers with a total of 216 yards and three touchdowns.

A pick six from Eagles cornerback Darius Slay made it a clear 27-7 half-time score. Rookie receiver Devonta Smith also brought the fans to ecstasy with some spectacular catches.

The Saints, who again had to do without star running back Alvin Kamara, only got going towards the end. Quarterback Trevor Siemian had big problems for a long time and ended up with 214 passing yards and three touchdowns.

The Saints are now 5-5 after the loss, while the Eagles continue to play catch-up and are now 5-6.

Miami Dolphins at New York Jets 24-17

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa led his team to a narrow victory over the New York Jets. The playmaker finished with 273 passing yards and two touchdowns, but also threw an interception.

On the other side, veteran Joe Flacco also had a strong game. With 291 passing yards and two touchdowns, the 36-year-old experienced a second spring, but could not prevent the defeat in the end.

The Jets’ eighth loss keeps them at just two wins, while the Dolphins continue their surge to improve to 4-7.

Washington Football Team at Carolina Panthers 27-21

Tight box between the Carolina Panthers and the Washington Football Team. Returnee Cam Newton kept his Panthers in the game for a long time, but could not prevent the narrow defeat.

The former MVP delivered a terrific performance with 189 passing yards and two touchdowns thrown as well as 46 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Star running back Christian McCaffrey impressed with 119 scrimmage yards.

No less impressive was the performance of his counterpart Taylor Heinicke. The Washington playmaker racked up 219 passing yards and led his team to victory with three touchdowns thrown. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin provided the next strong performance with 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The Panthers slip to 5-6 with the loss and out of the playoff ranks, while the football team remains in the middle of the standings at 4-6.

Detroit Lions at Cleveland Browns 10:13

The game between the Lions and the Browns was certainly no football treat. Both sides made a few mistakes, so that the game developed into a turnover festival.

Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield continued to struggle with several injuries and ended up with 176 passing yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. With a nice trick play that led to a touchdown, wide receiver Jarvis Landry could at least provide one of the few offensive bright spots.

The Lions had to do without starting quarterback Jared Goff, who was missing due to injury. He was replaced by backup Tim Boyle, who had a horror performance with 77 passing yards and two interceptions. Running back D’Andre Swift impressed the Lions with 136 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The Lions remain winless at 0-9-1 with the loss, while the Browns have a record of 6-5.

San Francisco 49ers at Jacksonville Jaguars 30:10

Clear affair between the 49ers and the Jaguars. San Francisco had no problems with the Jaguars’ defence, so Jimmy Garoppolo again put in a pleasing performance on the field. The veteran ended up with 176 passing yards and two touchdowns.

The downward slide of the Jacksonville Jaguars, on the other hand, continues. Number one pick Trevor Lawrence did his best, but could not prevent the defeat with 158 passing yards. It was not until “garbage time” that Jacksonville scored a touchdown through running back James Robinson.

The 49ers improve to 5-5 with the win – the Jaguars are 2-8.

Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans 22-13

Wrong world in the battle between the Tennessee Titans and the Houston Texans. While little was going right for the Titans offensively, Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor led his team to a surprising victory.

The signal caller was convincing through the air and in the running game, racking up a total of 135 yards and two touchdowns. For the Titans, on the other hand, quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a bad day. This was symbolised by an interception in the redzone, which was almost returned for a touchdown by the Texans.

Tannehill ended up with 323 passing yards and one touchdown, as well as four crushing interceptions. The Titans’ defence, which has been strong of late, was also unable to match its performance and had little to offer Taylor and company.

With the surprising defeat, the Titans now stand at 8-3, while the Texans improve to 2-8.

Baltimore Ravens at Chicago Bears 16:13

The Baltimore Ravens had to do without franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson due to a viral illness. Rookie Tyler Huntley started in his place and finished with 220 passing yards in his debut.

The Jackson replacement did well in an uneventful game – he also racked up 40 rushing yards. The Ravens used him remarkably often in a similar way to the superstar. For a long time, two field goals by Justin Tucker were the only points in the game.

On the other side, rookie quarterback Justin Fields had big problems against the Ravens defence. The young playmaker ended up with only 79 passing yards and committed a bad fumble in the first half – he had to leave the game early due to an injury.

After two touchdowns from Andy Dalton, who took over for Fields, the Bears sniffed victory. Thanks to a Devonta Freeman touchdown with 22 seconds left, the Ravens held on for the narrow away win.
