The New York Jets are said to have had a heated discussion between head coach Robert Saleh and owner Woody Johnson. The Jets owner now contradicts these reports.
The mood among New York Jets officials is apparently already at boiling point this offseason.
“NFL Media” host Colleen Wolfe reported in the podcast “Around the NFL” that head coach Robert Saleh and owner Woody Johnson had a “very heated conversation” at the league meeting that ended a few days ago.
The incident allegedly took place on Monday evening. “Maybe they had a disagreement about how they wanted their steak cooked,” Wolfe said. “I doubt that though.”
However, the journalist then rowed back a little and emphasized that it was not an “argument”, but just a “discussion”. However, it had been “a bit unpleasant”.
Wolfe justified this with the “body language” of the two Jets bosses, which was reported to her by an unnamed source.
New York Jets: Owner speaks out
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson wants everyone to know that he did not have a “heated argument” with head coach Robert Saleh during the NFL owners meetings.
That’s why Johnson spoke out on “X” on Thursday, calling for “another irresponsible report from NFL Network” to be ignored.
The statement suggests that the 76-year-old has often had problems with the reporting of the “NFL Network.”
All this nonsense about a heated argument between Coach Saleh and me at the League Meeting is absolutely false. It is yet another irresponsible report from NFL Network. Please disregard.

Is the Jets in crisis ahead of their season of destiny?
“A lively conversation they had. What was that all about?” She later described the whole situation as “super awkward,” adding, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”
After a 7-10 record and another clear miss of the playoffs, Gang Green’s decision-makers are under a lot of pressure ahead of the 2024 season.
A lot has already been done in the offseason to provide star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is currently in the final stages of his rehab from a torn Achilles tendon, with a ready-to-go roster.
The expectations are huge, as the window of opportunity with the 40-year-old passer is also severely limited. If the minimum goal of the postseason is not achieved again in the coming season, this is likely to be directly linked to the future of coach Saleh.
