The NFL is expanding, also in Europe. Two more cities have now been brought into play as part of the feasibility studies

The NFL is leaving no stone unturned to capitalize on the enthusiasm for American football around the world.

In the coming season, another game will take place in Germany as part of the International Series, with the Carolina Panthers meeting the New York Giants in Munich.

The NFL will also play three games in London and one game in Sao Paulo. Next year, Madrid will host a game, and Mexico City is also expected to get involved again. But the league is known to be thinking big, which is why Australia could also host a regular season game.

Two more European cities have now been brought into play as part of the expansion plans.

Henry Hodgson, managing director of the NFL’s UK office, told the Irish Times that the league is looking at several cities. The issue is whether a suitable stadium is available for the NFL and a fan base to get excited about.

“There is a feasibility study, as we would call it, in a number of different European cities and Dublin is one of them,” Hodgson said.

He added: “We’re looking at the stadiums, attending local meetings, taking all that information, processing it and deciding what the next steps are. That’s something that happens in Dublin, what happens in Paris, for example, and also in a number of other cities around the world. “
