The Packers surprised many experts with their decision to back rookie kicker Brayden Narveson. But head coach Matt LaFleur is satisfied
Initially, Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur was hesitant to make concessions, saying his rookie kicker was “uncharted territory” and would “certainly impact” their game.
However, Brayden Narveson now seems to be more to his coach’s liking, which could also be due to the two near-perfect kicking sessions the rookie completed with his team.
The young kicker hit a total of ten out of eleven field goals in the two training sessions, with a very long attempt from 53 yards being his only miss.
In an interview with “ESPN” on Sunday, LaFleur assured his kicker of his support: “Yeah, I’ve seen enough to have confidence in him. If that’s what you’re asking: Do I have confidence in him? Absolutely.”
The Packers had helped themselves to the Tennessee Titans after the roster cuts and snatched kicker Narveson away from the competition.
