Lenny Krieg wowed NFL scouts with a flawless field goal streak at the Combine. He and another German have been added to the league’s International Player Pathway Program.
Will he be the next German pro in the NFL?
Kicker Lenny Krieg of Stuttgart Surge from the ELF was invited to travel to Florida after a strong performance at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, where he will train at the IMG Academy for a possible NFL engagement.
Krieg caught the eye of scouts from several teams on Wednesday by making all of his field goal attempts.
He was the only kicker not to miss any of his 14 kicks from a distance between 35 and 55 yards. His performance even earned him a larger segment in a longer report on ESPN.
In addition to Lenny Krieg, Bastian Roppelt, who played for Frankfurt Galaxy as a punter last season, also took part in the combine.
Both players were added to the league’s International Player Pathway Program, to which their fellow countryman, offensive lineman Leander Wiegand, was invited in December.
The players are allowed to participate in the training sessions of the NFL teams and are likely to take an additional, unrestricted roster spot in the practice squad.
Players like Jakob Johnson, Marcel Dabo or Aaron Donkor have already made the leap to the NFL via this program.
