Former NFL pro Myles Jack is in serious trouble with the authorities. After a dangerous use of a firearm, the 30-year-old faces a harsh punishment.
There’s a huge stir surrounding former NFL star Myles Jack! According to consistent reports in the American media, the former linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers is facing trial in Texas for weapons possession.
According to a press release from the police, Jack was arrested in Texas on Tuesday.
Police reportedly heard shots coming from the apartment at 5:40 a.m. on December 16 after they were alerted and Jack wanted to pay a check-up visit.
The authorities then secured the area and evacuated several other apartments. Meanwhile, police heard a window break on the second floor and saw a man climb out and fall to the ground. That man was Jack, who was arrested at 7:12 a.m. However, the former football star was first taken to the hospital, where he had to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
Charges against Jack: Former NFL pro faces harsh punishment
Jack is said to have been alone in the apartment at the time of the incident. According to police, the 30-year-old is now facing charges of dangerous or potentially lethal use of a firearm. This is a “third-degree felony,” which is equivalent to a medium-level offense. The punishment can range from a fine to imprisonment for up to ten years, although Jack may not be hit as hard, especially since no one was apparently harmed.
Jack was an NFL pro from 2016 to 2023
Jack was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016 and remained with the franchise until 2021. He then spent a year with the Steelers before a brief stint with the Eagles marked his final season.
Shortly after retiring, Jack and his mother became owners of the Allen Americans ice hockey franchise in October 2023.
What exactly prompted Jack to use a firearm in his apartment remains unclear.
