Heavy charges against Bashaud Breeland: The former Super Bowl winner with the Kansas City Chiefs was stopped by police in a stolen car, he is also accused of illegal possession of weapons and drugs.
Former NFL pro Bashaud Breeland is facing serious charges. The 31-year-old was stopped by police in North Carolina on Monday in a stolen Mercedes.
According to police, the vehicle also contained several weapons, including two AR-15s and two AK-47s, 62 grams of suspected mushrooms and more than two kilos of marijuana. In total, he is charged with six offences.
According to a report by “WBTV”, the longtime cornerback was transferred to the Mecklenburg County Jail on Tuesday, but was allowed to leave after just a few hours on $30,000 bail.
Breeland was drafted in the fourth round by the then Washington Redskins (now Commanders) in 2014. His greatest success came in the 2019 season when he won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs. In the final game in February 2020 against the San Francisco 49ers, he played a decisive role in the victory with an interception.
Breeland played his last NFL game to date in December 2021 for the Minnesota Vikings, from whom he was released shortly thereafter after a dispute in practice with coaches and teammates. In January 2022, Breeland was briefly signed to the practice squad by the Arizona Cardinals.
