NFL Draft – Shedeur Sanders is unfazed by criticism: “Without hate, it’s not normal for us”

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders exuded a lot of confidence during his appearance at the NFL Combine. He believes he can change an entire franchise with his game.

At the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, quarterback Shedeur Sanders recently presented himself as extremely self-confident.

The 23-year-old, who previously played for the Colorado Buffaloes in the NCAA, is no stranger to the spotlight as the son of former NFL star Deion Sanders – but also to the downsides of fame.

“Do you think I care what critics say or what people have to say?” he asked at the Combine, addressing his critics. “Do you know who my father is? They hated him too. So it’s almost normal; it’s not normal for us without hate. We like the adversity. We like everything that comes with the name. That’s why we are who we are.”

Now he dreams of a career as big as his father Deion’s. The young quarterback even believes he can change an entire franchise with his play.

“We went from Jackson State to Colorado and changed two programs in a row,” he said, looking back on his time at college. ‘So you don’t think I can come to an NFL franchise and change a program again? That’s history. We did it again. It will always repeat itself.’

Now he also wants to change a franchise in the NFL almost single-handedly. “That’s the plan,” Sanders said, giving teams advice not to draft him if they don’t believe in him: “If you’re not trying to change the franchise or the culture, then you don’t understand me. So you should know that history repeats itself over and over again, and I have done it over and over again, so it shouldn’t be a question of why a franchise should pick me.”

Sanders is expected to be drafted in the first round and is considered the top quarterback in this year’s NFL Draft alongside Cam Ward from Miami.
