NFL Draft: Receiver talent Kyren Lacy dies at 24 – police investigated for involuntary manslaughter

Football talent Kyren Lacy is dead. The 24-year-old had registered for the upcoming NFL Draft, but his future was unclear after a horrific incident last December.

Longtime college football player Kyren Lacy is dead. This is reported by several media outlets in the US. Nothing is known about the circumstances of his death.

The 24-year-old wide receiver registered for the upcoming NFL Draft last December and was considered a candidate for the best football league in the world.

However, his future as a professional was in the stars. A few days before registering for the draft, Lacy was allegedly involved in a serious traffic accident in which a 78-year-old former U.S. Marine died.

Lacy is said to have caused the accident and then left the scene without calling emergency services. The police therefore investigated him for negligent homicide and hit and run and applied for an arrest warrant in January.

Lacy attended LSU Pro Day

He was accused of killing the 78-year-old when he “recklessly passed several vehicles at high speeds.” Lacy allegedly changed lanes in a no-passing zone, causing the accident.

Lacy then drove around the scene of the accident and “left the scene without stopping to provide assistance, call 911 or report his involvement in the accident,” according to police.

His agent Rocky Arceneaux announced that Lacy would be working closely with the authorities. In fact, the football talent was last at large and did not participate in the Pro Day of LSU, for whom he was last active, until the end of March. He was not invited to the official NFL Combine due to the investigation.

Lacy began his college career in 2020 at the University of Louisiana, playing for the team for two years. He then transferred to LSU, where he made his breakthrough in the past two years.

He finished the 2024 season with 866 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
