The negative headlines surrounding one of the top prospects in the upcoming draft, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, continue. At Pro Day, the Georgia star appears out of shape.
Jalen Carter is the talk of the town right now. Not for the reason he should be. Because the Georgia Bulldogs defensive tackle has long been considered a possible number one pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
However, he is currently making headlines with an arrest warrant that was issued against him.
An illegal street race involving Carter resulted in the deaths of Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and teammate Chandler LeCroy.
Poor physical condition
Still considered a potential draft pick, the 21-year-old continues to make no self-promotion. At the pro day in Athens, Carter appeared with over four kilograms more on his hips than he did a fortnight ago at the NFL Combine. In the process, he was unable to finish his positional drill because of cramping and heavy breathing.
Update: Georgia DL Jalen Carter couldn’t finish his position drills due to breathing heavily and cramping up, according to @Mark_Schlabach
Reports say he showed up 9 pounds heavier at his Pro Day than he was at the combine. He declined to run a 40.pic.twitter.com/v7bQ61XIem

Carter worked out in front of scouts and coaches from all 32 NFL teams at Georgia’s indoor facility. Three head coaches – Arthur Smith of the Falcons, Matt Eberflus of the Bears and Mike Tomlin of the Steelers – were also in attendance.
