After a handful of wide receivers received new contracts in the current offseason that exceeded the previous limits, last season’s best receiver was also asked about a contract extension: Cooper Kupp. But he doesn’t want to hear about the record contracts.
Munich/Los Angeles – Davante Adams, Christian Kirk, Tyreek Hill. Those are just three of the names who signed contracts this past offseason that make them among the NFL’s highest-paid receivers.
Cooper Kupp, wide receiver of the Los Angeles Rams, has also noticed this. But he doesn’t want to know anything about such a contract yet.
Kupp: “This is not a competition “
In an interview with “ESPN”, the man who picked up the Triple Crown (most yards, receptions and touchdowns) last season said, “It’s certainly not my approach to say they have so much money so I want more,” Kupp explained.
“It’s not a competition here. I’m not trying to beat anybody and I’m not comparing myself to anybody else,” Kupp added.
The MVP of Super Bowl 56 currently earns around 15.8 million dollars a year, which is about half of what top earner Hill can call his own. Kupp’s contract runs until after the 2023 season.
